sensor
The IR Obstacle Sensor is a simple, low-cost module used to detect nearby objects without physical contact. It works by transmitting infrared (IR) light and detecting the light reflected back from an object. Key Features 🔴 Detection Method: Infrared reflection 📏 Detection Range: Typically 2–30 cm, depending on the module and adjustment ⚡ Operating Voltage: Usually 3.3–5V 🔌 Output: Digital HIGH/LOW signal 🎯 Adjustable Sensitivity: Onboard potentiometer 🤖 Applications: Obstacle-avoiding robots, line-following robots, automatic doors, object detection, and smart systems 💻 Compatible With: Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers How It Works The sensor has an IR transmitter LED and an IR receiver. The transmitter continuously emits infrared light. When an object comes close, the IR light reflects from its surface and reaches the receiver. The onboard circuit then changes the output signal.
